Their head racing coach Grischa Niermann also moved to Lidl-Trek (though he hasn't been involved in the Tour yet..)
and with Jonas's dedicated coach Tim Heemskerk leaving too, the team itself feels like its strategic teamwork has taken a hit
Of course I also think Simon Yates's retirement and Wout van Aert missing the Tour played a role in this too
but overall, every aspect of their strategy this Tour feels like it's falling short compared to UAE
(from the Tour prep process to stage strategy and race planning, etc.)
Pogačar's amazing, and it really seems like the UAE team prepared for this Tour extremely well
