2011 year 4th generation was opened, and I started cycling because a friend who was going to ride with me bought a road bike. At that time, I first learned about the site called "Dossa" and went through an introductory course called 'Self-study Group'. For the past 15 years, I have been maintaining this hobby.
I've introduced quite a few people to cycling, used various equipment, and ridden most of the granfondo courses in Korea. Of course, there were no major accidents like broken bones, but I had a few falls and crashes, and even fought with my family because of this hobby.
Last summer, I had a really tough ride. My chest hurt... It wasn't just a one- or two-day thing, and my heart rate often went above 180.
Since then, I sometimes felt discomfort in my chest, so I checked my ECG with a smartwatch, and it showed arrhythmia. The hospital said there was nothing they could do except give me emergency medication.
I also run and swim. Both are strenuous on the heart...
Among them, cycling is the most fun hobby for me and a source of vitality in my life.
Last Saturday, I rode my bike quite hard (though it was fun). My legs were sore... and my heart didn't calm down for a few days. I'm scared to check my ECG.
I remember a story from an acquaintance.
“Riding a motorcycle is fun.... But you have to die or become disabled to finish..”
Why do I think of that.... My spine is tingling.
Anyway, I'm trying to cut back. I'm acknowledging my age and trying to land gently.
I even sigh, wondering if I should play golf..
It's a hobby to be healthy and happy. Let's all ride safely and healthily.
