This month I ended up swapping bikes, and while I happened to stop by my regular shop for a check-up,
the owner looked at my setup and noticed the crank was
a Magene PES power meter—since I was returning to riding after 3 seasons away I didn't have a bike computer either, and just then the owner told me he heard Magene had put out a decent bike computer, so I should look it up. When I got home and searched, for my standards it was such a tempting buy, and the design, weight, internal/external new features + price were so good it made me wonder if "Magene" was even making a profit on it, so I thought, ah, this is fate, and the day before payday I immediately placed a pre-order lol
I'd only ever used Garmin before, so this is my first time switching to a different brand,
and first off, the mount being Garmin-compatible is a pass, plus it's a metal mount, also a pass.
It's the world's first with an external spectrum LED, and the naming is "Star Ring," which can flash, do a breathing mode, or stay solid, and you can set various colors. In particular the mint color option looked really nice, especially paired with a Bianchi mint colorway—wouldn't that be a perfect match for my bike?
Honestly the design is great and the Magene screen came out really clear too. Coming with a clear case + screen protector included by default is also a huge plus.
I think it's worth recommending. I'll leave a proper review after using it for a while~
