Even though I swapped out every other part, spending money specifically on a bike computer
always felt like a waste.
I don't even have a power meter, and I don't check navigation...
So the bike computers I've used were
Bryton 320, 420, 860
Wahoo ROAM 1
I bought the Bryton 860 and ROAM 1 used, because I wanted to try
something decent for once.
But they were both so slow, and the way you use them wasn't much different from my older computers, so I'd never even considered looking at an expensive one..
This time my Bryton 860 had some issues
(1. Battery drains extremely fast 2. Screen ghosting)
so I inquired about repair, and they said they'd offer a trade-in!???
I thought "what a lucky break," and worked up the nerve to buy an S810 with the discount. (Even this is an expensive bike computer for me ㅠㅠ)
So I got it and started using it....
Oh my god... it feels like technology from the future....
It's like a smartphone... the touch response is so fast..
Color screen, big display, tons of options too...
I used to think the Bryton 860 and ROAM 1 were just old models that had been out for a while, and just assumed slow was normal because they had so many features...
So I figured other Garmins or the newer good bike computers were probably slow too, and any extra features wouldn't matter much since I don't even use them anyway.. and it never once occurred to me that they'd be worth it...
If I'd known this I would've upgraded ages ago ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
It's soooooo good, I don't regret spending the money one bit!!!
If you're just getting into cycling or thinking of buying a bike computer, buy a good one!!! You'll be genuinely satisfied!!!
It's like the difference between a Galaxy FE and a Galaxy Ultra..
Even if you don't use all the features, even if you're only using it for calls and KakaoTalk...
There's a reason good phones feel the way they do ㅠㅠㅠ
That's exactly the feeling here...
Buy a good bike computer... please..
I really regret my past misunderstanding about this...
To list what changed from my old one..
Bryton 860 => switched to Bryton S810!!
1. Battery 16 hours => 40 hours
2. Old black-and-white + touch => color + Korean-language support + touch (the touch method seems to have changed too, much better now)
3. Bigger screen too!!!! 2.8 inch => 3.5 inch!!
4. And!! Response speed ㅠㅠ Before, I had to wait 2-3 seconds after tapping any menu, now there's not even a 0.1 second delay...
I'm so happy ㅠㅠ
