Focus 2021 9.8 frame feels heavy somehow..
Also, it's old and needs verification, so I'm thinking about just moving the frame..
I compared Giant Propel, which is said to be light, with Aero only..
Unexpected results..
Giant Propel Advanced Pro M size standard
Frame approx. 940g ~ 1,000g
Fork approx. 400g
Tendency genuine aero bike (high-end carbon)
Giant Propel Advanced SL M size
Frame approx. 845g ~ 850g
Fork weight approx. 350g ~ 360g (top-of-the-line carbon)
Focus Izalco Max 9 (2021) M size

Key differences between the two models
① Integrated Seatpost (ISP) vs. regular adjustable seatpost
Propel Advanced SL: The seatpost is integrated with the frame as an ISP (Integrated Seatpost). To adjust the saddle height, you have to cut the carbon frame itself with a saw. This structure allows for an additional weight reduction of about 45g and provides an unrivaled sense of unity (responsiveness/riding feel) because separate seat clamps and thick seatpost assemblies are not required. However, it has limitations in terms of fitting adjustments or resale.
Izalco Max 9: Uses a conventional method of inserting a dedicated D-cut aero carbon seatpost. It is aesthetically clean and allows for free height adjustment.
② Frame tendency (aero vs. all-rounder hybrid)
Propel Advanced SL: A pure aero race bike. With the 4th generation, the front tube has become thinner and achieved significant weight reduction. However, the aerodynamic shape (AeroSystem Shaping) around the downtube and headtube is still much more aggressive than the Izalco Max.
Izalco Max 9: Although it incorporates aero tube shapes, its fundamental design is closer to a lightweight all-rounder bike. The lines are relatively slender and refined, and it's a versatile model that balances hill climbing and flatland cruising.
Conclusion
Focus 9 is over 100g lighter than Propel Pro and about 50g heavier than SL...
I shouldn't do anything foolish and should stick with Focus....ㅎ
