The National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia) is a national institution established to preserve the knowledge and cultural heritage of Indonesia and improve the literacy of its citizens. Since its establishment in 1980, it has provided valuable resources to Indonesian citizens and researchers, establishing itself as a center for academia and culture.
Location and Transportation Convenience
The National Library is located in the center of Jakarta, at Jl. Medan Merdeka Sel. No.11. It is easily accessible by various public transportation options. Transjakarta buses are recommended for better accessibility.

The lobby on the 1st floor is where interesting exhibitions are held. When I visited, there was an exhibition about the history of Indonesian writing.
After enjoying the exhibition, I entered the Perpusnas building. You've probably seen this famous building before! The building has the words "National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia)" written on it. This building has the name of the library written in five languages. There is no Korean... ㅜ.ㅜ

To freely use the library, membership registration is required. You can pre-register online and then obtain a membership card on the 2nd floor. (For foreigners, a KITAS file is acceptable)
2. Spaces for Children, Seniors and People with Disabilities (7th Floor)
The 7th floor is designed with spaces that consider all age groups and diverse needs. Fairy tales and magazines for children, Braille books and audiobooks for seniors and people with disabilities are available.
3. Exhibition Space and Cafeteria (4th Floor)
The 4th floor houses an exhibition space dedicated to Indonesian culture and history, as well as a cafeteria to satisfy your hunger during your visit.
4. Audiovisual Room (8th Floor)
You can enjoy not only books but also music and movies. In addition to the latest albums and movie DVDs, we also have a collection of traditional vinyl records, providing visitors with a new experience.
5. Multimedia Internet Service (19th Floor)
This space provides high-speed Wi-Fi and a quiet environment, making it suitable for research and work. Visitors can use the internet service for free.
6. Open Stacks and Study Space (21st-22nd Floors)
Here, you can freely browse a variety of books and materials from different fields. Comfortable sofas and beanbag chairs are provided.
7. Cultural Heritage Materials and Lounge (24th Floor)
On the top floor, the 24th floor, you can encounter traditional Indonesian cultural heritage materials. You can also enjoy stunning views of Jakarta and the surrounding areas.
It's no exaggeration to say that the view is breathtaking.
On a clear day, you can even see the sea in the distance. (Duldji's certification mission requires taking a photo of this Monas view.)
