Originally there's an acquaintance's cafe in the Aewol area, so I planned to drop by lightly, but by the time I arrived by plane and got there it would be closing time. They also said they had a schedule afterward..
So I hurriedly changed plans to the 1100 Highland and headed up.
I've done relatively short climbs (Paljoryeong, Heoltijae, etc.) several times, but a 2-hour climb was a first, so.. the latter part was a bit tough.
Around sunset I reached the 1100 Highland, stopped by the convenience store (arrived just before closing), refueled, and headed back..
I had bib shorts, a short sleeve + arm sleeves, and no gloves, and honestly I thought I'd freeze to death the whole way down. During the downhill my rear wheel even slipped a little, but luckily I didn't crash.. I was really shivering.
Even while washing with warm water at the lodging I kept shivering and thought it was strange
After drying off I shivered uncontrollably, and looking in the mirror my lips were bluish. Wondering if this was hypothermia, I drank a few cups of warm water, warmed up on an electric blanket that happened to be there, ate a warm meal, and felt better.
It really scared me.
I'm thinking of doing a loop today, but the weather isn't cooperating.
From the start I went out with a long-sleeve thermal jersey + knee warmers.
