When I opened Gaeiver, there was a bike sales blog post on the main screen. I noticed that on March 31st, in one day,
and around 10 PM at that, they posted multiple items all at once including cameras, laptops, golf clubs, clothes, etc.
They only had the like/heart marking enabled and removed the comment section.
They made an excuse of being busy with work and only posted a phone number telling people to contact via KakaoTalk,
and when I looked up the phone number, as expected, there were 3 fraud cases in 3 months.
(Gaeiver staff doesn't filter these out either, and seeing it posted on the main screen really... ㅠ.ㅠ)
Looking at the fraud patterns so far,
1. They copy-paste the title exactly and ask questions
2. The sentence "If I buy now, when can you send it?" is always included. (Not a single word differs)
3. They mention they have accumulated points and pressure you to register on a fraudulent sales site to use them
(But how much must they have used on an unfamiliar site to accumulate over a million or several million in points? - That alone is already a scam)
4. They remove comment sections on blogs and cafes.
5. They ignore questions about in-person transactions. Their responses are delayed despite answering quickly initially, suggesting they're talking to multiple people. Their answers are extremely brief to avoid making mistakes.
6. Unreasonably low prices that make you tempted. (The moment you're tempted, rationality is numbed and you become hasty to avoid losing it to others)
7. They pressure you to contact only via KakaoTalk.
8. When checking their entire post history, if they recently joined, they only have sales posts.
9. Or, they had posts around ten years ago, then nothing, and suddenly many sales posts in recent days (possible hacking)
10. And so on.
Even for small amounts, but especially for large amounts, please be sure to do in-person transactions.
I've even taken a 4-hour intercity bus to get an item in person.
Losing hard-earned money is depressing enough,
but when I think about those scumbags pocketing it and patting their bellies, I'm filled with such rage and disgust.
Though you probably already know this, I've organized it like a nag because there are endless stories of people getting scammed.
I hope you members make calm and wise decisions so you don't fall for scams.
