While tidying up, I found a carbon handlebar that had been detached because the part where it was clamped was pressed. I cut it open with a saw to see what the inside looked like.
The conclusion is that if it's severely compressed, there's a possibility of cracking.
Nowadays, integrated handlebars are common, so this kind of thing probably doesn't happen anymore, but you still need to be careful about the lever clamping area.
By the way, about 10 years ago, they said that compression wasn't a big problem.
