I'm a bit embarrassed to be an athlete around 3 pm in Bukak Mountain. Don't do that.

Hello.
Today here in Seoul the rain forecast missed, it's a slightly overcast sky, and the cherry blossoms are still in full bloom, a weekend with nice air.
All I can say is it's really nice.
Today.. there were some big races going on, hope everyone got through them safely.
Really pretty, isn't it.
The kind of thing that makes you feel good just looking at it...
But if this flower had a repulsive smell instead of a nice fragrance and was only pretty to look at, would you still want to get close to it?
Today, that "surely not" type of rider.. genuinely unpleasant, made me wonder why they even bother
those people..
Knowing you shouldn't act that way but doing it anyway.
That's cognitive dissonance.
I end up observing that type of person fairly often overall.
Honestly it's kind of sad, and I don't think there's much need to dig deeper into "why."
It was a bit overcast today, but for a warm-up ride before a proper long-distance ride, there's nothing better than coming here with a good mood.
It's a course where you can do lap after lap at a low heart rate without getting worn out, so it's the kind of multi-lap Bukak-san course where I don't feel any particular urge to chase a PR.
too.
It's just nice that it's not far.
I'm not really trying to gasp for air and max out my heart rate here.
I can push it during an actual race anyway^^.
Most riders genuinely just want to ride hard and safely.
But...
On my way home, riding the downhill safely, I couldn't believe my eyes.
It's not even like they split up on that narrow road..
Riding a really nice bike while filming with a camera, it just felt... unnatural, I guess?
Keeping more distance, not overtaking on the descent, I had no choice but to just hang back far behind that group
and that was..
honestly a bit embarrassing.
My face went red, ugh..
A driver who was also slowing down and descending far behind alongside me rolled down their window and quietly said this
and told me to drive safely.
" Is it normal for those riders to ride like that? I held back from cursing. The filming looked dangerous. "
Ah.. it was genuinely so embarrassing it was hard to even explain..
Every once in a while when a driver runs into a clueless rider, what do they end up thinking?
Honestly you don't even need to do stuff like that to enjoy riding...
It's a shame.
A nice bike with a well-put-together athlete.
Is that really so hard?
"When would I ever run into anyone here anyway?" if that's the mindset behind riding so recklessly, doesn't it end up being the riders who actually follow the rules and ride safely who take the blame instead?
Of course, if these were the kind of people who'd actually listen to this, they wouldn't have caused a situation like this in the first place.
Same goes for the Han River in springtime—these days everyone's attention gets pulled away by flower-viewing.
Even more reason for safe riding.
So I hope you all have a great ride.
ps. Just some rider who misses seeing basic human decency.
