However, no conclusion was reached. Song's candidacy was questioned due to his reinstatement period being less than six months, while Kim faced scrutiny over unpaid party dues. The pro-Moon Jae-in faction argued that eligibility should be denied according to party rules and opposed the convening of the Party Affairs Committee. Conversely, Song and Kim contended that the issues stemmed from the prosecution's investigation and opposed restrictions on their candidacy. The outcome of the eligibility review for both candidates is expected to significantly impact the race for the party leadership convention scheduled in a month.
Partai Demokrasi Bersama juga mengadakan pertemuan komite tertinggi untuk membahas kualifikasi calon ketua partai Song Young-gil dan calon anggota komite tertinggi Kim Yong, tetapi tidak mencapai kesimpulan. Song menghadapi masalah masa pemulihan yang kurang dari enam bulan, sementara Kim menghadapi masalah tunggakan iuran partai.
