National Assembly Speaker Choe Jeong-sik said he sees next year as the right time for constitutional revision and plans to push forward with the 10th constitutional amendment by forming a special committee on constitutional revision through bipartisan agreement. He said he would build a digital platform to ensure public participation in the constitutional amendment discussion process. Regarding the possibility of allowing incumbent presidents to seek re-election, he referred to it as a "matter of national choice" without stating a clear position. His remarks drew criticism from the People Power Party as an "legislative coup." Speaker Choe also said that he would, in principle, handle bills that have passed through the standing committee and the Judiciary Committee within the current session for smooth bill processing.
