프랑스군이 테슬라, BYD 차량부터 스마트폰 애플리케이션(틴더, 스트라바 등)까지 일상 기기 사용 시 군사 정보 유출 위험에 대해 경고했습니다. 이는 차량 카메라를 통한 군사시설 촬영이나 위치정보 기능을 이용한 개인정보 추적이 가능하기 때문입니다. 실제로 데이팅 앱 틴더는 삼변측량 방식으로 군인들의 이동 경로를 추적하는 데 사용된 바 있으며, 운동 기록 앱 스트라바는 프랑스 항공모함의 위치가 노출되는 사례도 발생했습니다. 프랑스군은 이러한 보안 취약점을 인지하고 장병들에게 주의를 당부하며, 최선의 방어 수단은 휴대전화 전원 끄기를 권고했습니다.
The French army has warned about the risk of military information leaks when using everyday devices, from Tesla and BYD vehicles to smartphone applications (Tinder, Strava, etc.). This is because it is possible to photograph military facilities through vehicle cameras or track personal information using location services. In fact, the dating app Tinder has been used to track the movement routes of soldiers using triangulation, and the exercise logging app Strava has also resulted in cases where the location of French aircraft carriers was exposed. Recognizing these security vulnerabilities, the French army urged its personnel to be cautious and recommended turning off mobile phones as the best defense.
